The PAR program will indicate at the top of the front page if a newer version is available. PAR uses an internet connection to retrieve this information.

In some organizations, the use of Internet connections for different programs must be allowed separately by the ICT person, so that PAR can search for information about the latest version. Even if the internet connection is too slow, PAR does not have time to search for update information before the timeout. In these cases, PAR says that update information could not be retrieved. However, this does not affect the success of the update.
