2.3.4 Moving the PAR program to a new location
Index
If you want to move the PAR program to another location, copy the PAR program folder to the network drive, run the Client Template from the network drive and select the folders from their new location.
An example case where a single-user PAR system from station C is deployed to a multi-user network station:
- Copy the PAR program folder from the user's computer (usually it can be found at the root of the C drive) to the network folder of your choice.
- When the PAR program folder is on the network drive, start the User Interface file called Customer Template from the subfolder of the PAR program folder.
- Selection of folders: tell AsiakkaanMalli the paths of the PAR program from the network drive (folders Database, Attachments, Statistics) with a drive letter or UNC path. You can also use the Browse button to select folders.
- At the end of the installation, click the Install/Update PAR button. This creates new PAR login.xlst and .vbs files that can now access folders on the network drive.
The PAR login.vbs file creates a shortcut on the desktop when starting. This shortcut can be exported to all users as a good practice.
It is a good idea to remove the original shortcut to the PAR program folder on the C drive from the desktop of the previous user, so that he does not mix them up. The PAR program folder located on the C drive can now also be deleted or its name changed to a backup if it is temporarily kept.
